Now is the time to apply for Casper College Foundation and institutional scholarships. The deadline to apply is Friday, Nov. 1. The next application period will open Wednesday, Jan.1, with a deadline of Saturday, March 1. The application process is open to current and prospective students.

Scholarships are a great way to help pay for a student’s college education, and unlike loans, scholarship recipients don’t need to pay back their awards. According to Anna Miller, scholarship coordinator, scholarships intend to recognize academic and other achievements and assist as many qualified students as possible. Casper College awards almost $3.5 million in scholarships every year.

Institutional scholarships include activity and athletic scholarships and the Casper College T-Bird Award. The coach and/or sponsor of each activity/sport selects the recipients of these scholarships. Each scholarship requires the student to maintain specific eligibility and prescribed participation level requirements to maintain the award. Generally, recipients must attempt and earn at least 12 credit hours each semester and maintain at least a 2.0 GPA each semester. These scholarships are not guaranteed renewable, but students can reapply.

Students who apply early for admissions by Sunday, Dec. 1, are considered for the Casper College T-Bird Award. They will be considered for this opportunity by submitting their current high school transcripts with cumulative high school GPA and ACT scores and meeting the criteria. “The goal of the Casper College T-Bird Award is to recognize high-achieving incoming freshmen students,” said Miller. The T-Bird Award requires no extra scholarship application.

Funding for the Casper College Foundation and Alumni Association is due to the generosity of private donors and endowments. The criteria vary for each scholarship and range from part-time to full-time enrollment, with a minimum GPA requirement of 2.0. The foundation and alumni association continue to receive new gifts from donors, providing even more opportunities for students in various study areas.

Applicants will receive notification of what scholarship(s) they have won, the amount, and how they will receive the funds. To begin the process, click here. For more information, contact Miller at 307-268-2503 or anna.miller@caspercollege.edu.
