All fourth- and fifth-grade students in Natrona County are invited to attend this year’s Mini KEY Camp on Monday, Nov. 2. The registration deadline for this year’s Mini KEY Camp at Casper College is Monday, Oct. 19, and scholarships are available.
Like the summer KEY Camp for sixth-, seventh-, and eighth-graders, Mini KEY Camp offers students unique academic and social enrichment opportunities, according to Brittney Good, community education program coordinator.
Mini KEY Camp runs from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and includes lunch, dinner, and snacks. “Activity-focused classes, dynamic instructors, and a KEY Camp favorite, GaGa Ball, make Mini KEY Camp a truly unique experience,” said Good.
Dino Madsen, dean of health science at Casper College, will be the featured guest speaker and will discuss what Casper College has to offer and why fourth- and fifth-graders should start thinking about college now.
“I am honored to be the speaker for Mini KEY this year,” said Madsen. Madsen’s background is in laboratory medicine. He was hired at Casper College in 2005 to help build the Medical Laboratory Technician Program. In 2016, he became the MLT program director. In 2020, Madsen was appointed academic chair of Allied Health Science. In 2024, he was appointed as dean of health science. “(My) passion and interest revolve around success in higher education for students,” he said.
The cost per student is $65. All Mini KEY Camp activities and classes will be held on the Casper College campus.
