Two Casper College students, Owen Burbank and Jamey Olson, were recently nominated to the Wyoming All-State Community College Academic Team.
Burbank is a sophomore fire science major, and Olson is an elementary education major. Both graduated from Meeteetse High School in 2017.
To qualify for the nomination, all students must be a member of their local Phi Theta Kappa chapter, complete an All-USA Academic Team application, and demonstrate academic excellence and intellectual rigor combined with leadership and service that extends their education beyond the classroom to benefit society. “This is the third time that we have had students fill out this application and been selected for this recognition. I congratulate Owen and Jamey for their commitment to follow through with this project and for being selected to the team,” said Debra Swedberg, instructor and PTK sponsor at Casper College.
PTK, community college presidents, and community college state associations sponsor the All-State Community College Academic Team in 38 participating states. Wyoming has been participating in the All-State Community College Academic Team since 2013.
