Volleyball Team on Home Court Next Five Matches

The Casper College Lady Thunderbirds will be off the road for the next five matches to play in the familiar confines of the “Swede” Erickson Thunderbird Gym.

The Birds are coming off of a tough road swing where they lost three of their last four matches. The team currently stands at 7-12 for the year.

The homestand will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. when the Birds take on the Lady Generals of Sheridan College. The Generals currently have a record of 7-8 and have won three of their last four matches.

The Thunderbirds will next play the Northwest College Lady Trappers. The Trappers have split their last four matches and stand at 6-6 for the season. The match will tip off at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29.

The Western Nebraska Community College Lady Cougars will visit the “Swede” on Tuesday, Oct. 2. The two teams met recently at Cougar Palace, and the Cougars took all three games 9-25, 25-27, and 17-25. The match will begin at 6 p.m. The Cougars sit at 14-6 for the season and have won their last four matches.

For the fourth home game, the Birds will take on the Western Wyoming Community College Mustangs. The Mustangs are coached by a former T-Bird player, Fredann (Hutton) Soto who is in her first season as interim head coach. Soto is still ranked at No. 10 in a single season (1992) with 232 blocks in the T-Bird record books. The Mustangs are currently 6-12, having lost their last four matches. The match will take place on Friday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m.

The T-Birds wrap up their time at home with a match against the Central Wyoming College Lady Rustlers. The Lady Rustlers have split their last four matches and are currently 2-12 on the season. The Saturday, Oct. 6 match will tip off at 3 p.m.

Ticket prices are $4 for adults 18 and older, $3 for seniors 60 and over, $2 for students aged 13-17, and free for those 12 and under. The “Swede” Erickson Thunderbird Gym is located on the Casper College campus.
