Learn where the individuals running for a seat on the Casper College board of trustees stand at a moderated trustee candidate forum on Monday, Oct. 19, from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Wheeler Concert Hall. A reception will follow the forum, which is free and open to the public.
Trustee Candidate Forum Details and Format
Of the seven candidates running for the three available seats, six will attend the forum, including current trustee Dave Applegate, Anna Kinder, Ryan McConnaughey, Marshall Stewart, Liz Batton, and Eugenie Burkett. Applegate is the only incumbent whose term expires this year and who will seek reelection. The other two, Todd Milliken and Kathy Dolan, chose not to run for another term.
The forum will be moderated by Casper College students Christopher Washburn, Torena Pike, and Emily Bassler, who will ask the candidates a range of questions about their motivations, qualifications, community engagement, the college’s priorities, the educational mission, and the trustee’s role.
“We want to encourage community members to attend the forum, hear the questions firsthand, and have the opportunity to learn more about each of the candidates and their perspectives,” said Tina Silva, executive assistant to the president and the board.
Each candidate will have 90 seconds to respond to each question. During the final 15-20 minutes of the forum, audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions directly to the candidates.
“This is the public’s opportunity to hear directly from those seeking to lead one of Natrona County’s most vital community institutions,” said Chris Lorenzen, the college’s director of strategic communications and marketing.
