Casper College hosts special ball for veterans Nov. 13 at The Hangar

The Casper College Veterans Ball returns for its sixth annual celebration on Friday, Nov. 13, hosted by the Casper College Veterans Club at The Hangar. Tickets are on sale now through Nov. 12 for the Sixth Annual Veterans Ball.

Casper College Veterans Ball Honors Service Members and Families

The military ball is a long-standing tradition among all branches of service. “It is a night open to the community, and we spend it celebrating and honoring our local veterans, active-duty, reserve, families, and the fallen. This year we are focusing on the strength and perseverance of our nation and her veterans with the theme, ‘Still Standing,’” said Casper College Veterans Club President Kurstin Larsen.

The semiformal ball will be held at The Hangar. The ball will begin at 5 p.m. with cocktail hour, followed by the anthem at 5:30 and opening remarks. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m., and speeches will begin around 6:45. The evening’s keynote speaker is John Woodward, cultural resources manager of the Wyoming Veterans’ Commission. Raffle drawings will be held at 7:45.

Live guitar music will be played during cocktails and dinner, and a DJ will provide dance music from 8-9. Attire is semiformal, and dancing is not mandatory.

Proceeds from the Casper College Veterans Ball directly benefit student veterans at Casper College through ticket sales, raffle drawings, and donations. Donations are also being accepted before and during the event.

Tickets to the ball are $60 per person or $100 for a couple. A table for eight is also available for $450. Tickets can be purchased online, at the Casper College Veteran Resource Center, Room 207, on the second floor of the Walter H. Nolte Gateway Center on the Casper College campus, or by contacting Larsen at kursten.larsen@mycc.caspercollege.edu or club adviser Patrick Amelotte at 307-268-2729 or patrick.amelotte@caspercollege.edu.

The Casper College Veterans Club sponsors the ball. The Hangar is located at 1410 Prairie Lane in Bar Nunn.
