Explore Italian Culture and Heritage Through History and Cuisine
Italy is famous for its breathtaking landscapes, historic cities, remarkable architecture, world-renowned art, distinctive cuisine, and rich cultural traditions. The country has made significant contributions to art, science, fashion, music, and innovation. It has produced exceptional talents such as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Galileo Galilei, Dante Alighieri, Ennio Morricone, Luciano Pavarotti, and Federico Fellini, among many others.
Discover the origins of Rome, its transition from monarchy to republic, and the role of the Roman Senate with Emma Brummer, who is currently pursuing a master’s degree in history. Brummer teaches social studies at Casper Christian School. She enjoys researching history and finding creative ways to share her knowledge with others.
Explore the beauty of Italian architecture and its defining features with Hank Washut, a Casper native and public-school educator with 31 years of teaching experience. Passionate about learning and discovery, he enjoys inspiring others while sharing an appreciation for the beauty and wonders of the world.
The International Dinner is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 16, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. and will feature an Italian-inspired menu of polenta topped with Bolognese sauce, eggplant Parmesan, Tuscan white bean soup, roasted carrots, and tiramisu.
