Quintet of Talented Sophomores Commit to NCAA Schools

Five talented sophomores from the 2016-2017 Casper College Volleyball team signed their letters of intent to play ball at the next level today at the “Swede” Erickson Thunderbird Gym on the Casper College campus.

The five include three who will be heading to Montana State University-Northern to play for Head Coach Bill Huebsch and the Skylights: Precious Atafua, Alyssa Earl, and McKaylie Tanner. Says Head Coach and Athletic Director Angel Sharman, “Precious has such a high volleyball IQ that it makes her game so smooth. She knows when to be aggressive and then when to place shots when she needs to. It is going to be great to watch her grow even more than she has here. Alyssa will be successful as well. She works hard, and communication is a strong component that elevates her play. McKaylie has such a strong block. As a setter, she will be able to keep the positive atmosphere for her teammates and take the blame away from others in a matter that makes her teammates trust her.”

Carisa Becerra has committed to Black Hills State University to play for the Yellowjackets under Head Coach Kristin Carmichael. Sharman believes that “Carisa is going to do very well at the next level because she knows how to put the hard work in and will be dedicated to the program.”

The final player, Olivia L’ami, as announced earlier this month, will be playing next season for Head Coach Laurie Kelly and the Battlin’ Bears of Rocky Mountain College. Sharman notes that “Olivia will kill it at the next level,” adding, “Oliva is such a hard worker that she will be successful at the next level. She is so competitive and plays hard every moment that she is on the court.”

“I’m very proud of all of these young ladies and know they will go far in life. It is great to watch them grow and to continue to continue to grow at the next level,” Sharman adds.
