Community Education November Classes Offerings
“The leaves are falling, but the learning fun is still here! Discover something new with Community Education at Casper College,” said Zhanna Gallegos, community education coordinator.
Participants can fire up their energy with a lively mix of choreographed routines set to fun music inspired by aerobics, Zumba, and more in Dance Fusion. Participants will get toned and build strength, balance, and endurance while boosting mood, confidence, and connection, according to instructor Kristin Taylor. Dance Fusion is suitable for all levels, and modifications are available. The class will run on Monday and Wednesday, Nov. 2-23, from 6:15-7:15 p.m.
With retirement in 2026, new opportunities and challenges await. Instructor Todd Durdahl will share insights into economic and political changes, including tax cuts, Social Security protections, and market policies, to help attendees make informed decisions in Freedom in Retirement. Attendees will learn how to maximize Social Security, save tax-efficiently, and understand the difference between tax evasion and avoidance. They will also explore strategies for lasting retirement income, maximizing their 401(k), and protecting their portfolio from unnecessary taxes to take charge of their financial future. Freedom in Retirement will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 3, from 5:30-7 p.m.
Suitable for intermediate and advanced levels, Wire Jewelry: Seasonal Sparkle will help students enhance their wire skills and explore fun techniques and safe tool use while creating seasonal-inspired jewelry. In this class, students will learn to design a fall-leaf earring set, craft playful candy-cane earrings, and fashion festive Christmas tree, ribbon, or snowman designs. Supplies are provided, but students are encouraged to bring their favorite tools if desired. Wire Jewelry: Seasonal Sparkle will be held on Saturday, beginning Nov. 7 and running through Dec. 5, from 10 a.m. to noon.
Movement, Expression, and Creative Media
Participants will engage their senses through a variety of dance movements inspired by different styles. Students are welcome to follow instructor Judy Ridolfino or explore their own creativity in a welcoming, supportive space. Created for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s and their caregivers, the class fosters connection through movement, expression, and music from the 1940s onward that sparks joyful, nostalgic moments. Participants will enjoy social interaction and the freedom to dance together. Rhythm and Remembrance is offered in partnership with Wyoming Dementia Care and will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 17, from noon to 1:30 p.m.
Learn the fundamentals of country swing, including basic steps, dips, and essential moves, as you dance your way to a great time in the class Country Swing Dancing Foundations. Whether students want to learn country swing for a special event, embrace a new challenge, or just have fun, the staff at Western Sky Country Dance will lead the way. Country Swing Dancing Foundations is suitable for all ages and will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 24, through Dec. 5, from 6:30-7:45 p.m.
Finally, in DaVinci Resolve Video Editing I, students will learn to edit and share their videos using DaVinci Resolve. According to instructor Mark Pruitt, DaVinci Resolve is a top-tier free editing software. Students will practice video and audio management, refine clips into polished videos, and render them in various formats for platforms like YouTube. Students can bring their videos and still images on a jump drive or use clips provided by the instructor. DaVinci Resolve Video Editing I will run Monday, Nov. 30, through Dec. 14, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Registration for the class is due by Sunday, Nov. 22.
