‘Mammoth Day’ rumbles into the Tate March 16

“Mammoth Day” will rumble into the Tate Geological Museum’ on Saturday, March 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The day honors and celebrates the museum’s mammoth, Dee, the world’s largest and most complete mounted Columbian mammoth.

The day will include two presentations: one on how Dee was discovered, excavated, and assembled, and then a talk on the difference between mammoths and elephants.

According to Dalene Hodnett, director of museums at Casper College, children 12 and under will receive a free mammoth book and poster while supplies last.

The event is free and open to the public. The Tate Geological Museum is located on the southern end of the Casper College campus; look for the life-sized T.rex bronze near the museum.
