You’ll automatically receive all your federal grants, if eligible, by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, so complete your FAFSA early. You’ll be notified of any grants you receive in your financial offer letter. Casper College School Code: 003928.
Certain scenarios may require that a portion or all of the grant funds be repaid, for example, if you withdraw from school before finishing an enrollment period such as a semester. More general info about federal grants.
2025-2026 FAFSA applicants – please note the FAFSA will not open on October 1, 2026. It is expected to open in December 2026, but in the meantime, you may estimate the amount of your federal aid using the Federal Student Aid Estimator.
Other grants will have their own application and eligibility requirements.
Federal Pell Grants are awarded based upon completion of the FAFSA. Your Student Aid Index (SAI) is used to determine eligibility for this award, along with your Cost of Attendance (COA) and enrollment status. Pell Grants are awarded only to undergraduate students who have not earned a bachelor’s degree or professional degree. The maximum Pell Grant award can change each year based upon Congressional funding levels. Students can receive up to six years of Pell Grant Funding.
