Wyoming Science Olympiad clinic offered at Casper College
A clinic featuring a series of hands-on workshops in preparation for the 2024 Wyoming Science Olympiad will be held at Casper College on Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 8 and 9, 2024.
The clinic is aimed at teachers and mentors who are new to the Science Olympiad and seasoned coaches. The scheduled workshops will provide attendees with a better understanding of events and offer strategies for implementation. The clinic will also introduce some of the events of the 2024 Olympiad scheduled for Saturday, April 13, 2024.
Conducted by experienced event supervisors, coaches, and national-level Science Olympiad experts, the cost for Wyoming Science Teacher Association members is $80 and $95 for nonmembers. The day-and-a-half clinic will run on Monday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to noon. Lunch for Monday and refreshments throughout the event are included in the ticket price. The clinic is approved for 0.5 PTSB credits.
“The Wyoming Science Olympiad is an academic interscholastic competition designed to increase student interest in science and improve the quality of science education throughout Wyoming,” said Sarah Schneider, workforce development specialist at Casper College. The Olympiad is open to all secondary schools in Wyoming and has two grade divisions, sixth through ninth and ninth through 12th.
