CC Men’s Soccer faces Otero Rattlers November 5

The Casper College Men’s Soccer team will face the Otero Rattlers of Otero College on Sunday, Nov. 5, at noon. The match will take place at La Junta High School in La Junta, Colorado, for the Region IX and Northwest Plains District Championship and a berth to the NJCAA National Men’s Soccer Tournament.

The T-Birds finished the regular season 9-6-4 and 5-1-3 in Region IX play. “We hosted the Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen in the quarter-finals and won 2-0 with goals from Hayden Hollinger (Casper) and Cole Venable (Worland),” said Head Coach Ben McArthur. The team then traveled last weekend to Cody to play against the Northwest College Trappers from Powell. “It was a frigid game that we won 1-0 with Yuto Hatayama (Tokyo) scoring the game-winning goal,” McArthur said.

The Rattlers finished the regular season 12-1-3 and 7-0-2 in conference play. The only time the Birds and the Rattlers played against each other was in September, with the game ending in a tie of 0-0.

The 2023 NJCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Championship will take place Nov. 12-18 at the Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, Kansas.
