All-Region IX Tournament Team includes four Lady Thunderbirds

Following the completion of the Region IX Tournament, individual players, including four Lady Thunderbirds, were named to the All-Tournament team.

Those named to the team from Casper College were sophomores Sandra Frau-Garcia, Julia Palomo, Flora Goed, and freshman Logan Alvar. “The recognition these ladies received was based on their overall performance at Region IX,” said Dwight Gunnare, head coach.

Frau-Garcia, Pego, Spain, had 15 points, eight assists, and six rebounds per game. Palomo, La Seu d’Urgell, Spain, had 12 points and five rebounds per game. Goed, Vienna, Austria, scored 12 points per game, and Alvar, Casper, had 13 points and five rebounds per game.

The No. 15 Lady Thunderbirds ended the 2022-2023 season 30-3, became three-time North Sub-Region Championship winners with a 10-0 conference record, winning the 2023 Region IX Women’s Basketball Tournament against the Western Wyoming Community College Lady Mustangs 62-60.
