July Animal House at the Werner announced

The Werner Wildlife Museum will join forces with the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center to bring back the popular “Summer Animal House” with naturalist Mike Bardgett.

Has your child ever wondered where that dandelion in your yard came from? Or that basket of flowers. Where did they come from? Seeds are the answer for most plants. But how do they get there? Depending on the seed, it is a fascinating story that can involve insects, animals, the wind, rain, and even people. Children will find out how seeds travel to get to their destinations during “Seeds: How They Travel” Thursday, July 8.

Three sessions will be held at 12:30-1, 1:15-1:45, and 2-2:30 p.m. All Animal House presentations are designed for elementary school children and their families, but all are welcome. Due to the popularity of Animal House, reservations are appreciated, but walk-ins are never turned away, according to India Hayford, museum assistant.
