The public is invited to meet a site visit team from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing on Tuesday, March 12 beginning at 5:15 p.m. in the Saunders Health Science Center, Rm. 111.

Every eight years the Casper College Nursing Department is reviewed for continuing accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. The nursing program has been continuously accredited since the initial accreditation was received in January 1979, the longest of any community college in Wyoming.

Those attending the March 12 meeting will be able to share their comments about the nursing program with the site visit team. Those unable to attend the meeting may submit written comments to Dr. Marsal Stoll, Chief Executive Officer, Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, 3343 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 850, Atlanta, GA 30326 or email Stoll at mstoll@acenursing.org. The commission must receive all written comments by Thursday, March 7, 2019.

According to the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing website, “… accreditation indicates to the general public and to the educational community that a nursing program has clear and appropriate educational objectives and is working to achieve these objectives. Emphasis is placed upon the total nursing program and its compliance with established standards and criteria in the context of its mission/philosophy as well as current and future nursing practice.”

The Saunders Health Science Center is located on the Casper College campus.
