Fossil Day at Tate October 12

The Tate Geological Museum will celebrate National Fossil Day Saturday, Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the museum.

The day will include games, crafts, treats, tours, and fossil-themed activities, according to Patti Finkle, director of museums. Children will be able to participate in the “Shark Tooth Hunt” and keep any shark’s teeth that they find. Those planning to attend are encouraged to bring their rocks, minerals, and fossils for identification by an expert.

The gift shop will also be celebrating with 10% off all sales for nonmembers and 20% off for Tate members.

The National Fossil Day open house is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served. The Tate Geological Museum is located on the Casper College campus.
