New sessions for those seeking to earn their free High School Equivalency Certificate are Sept. 23 and 24 at the Lee and Felicia Castellow Adult Learning Center at Casper College.
Free High School Equivalency Certificate Orientation Sessions
The first two sessions on Wednesday, Sept. 23, occur at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. The next three sessions on Thursday, Sept. 24, occur at 9 a.m. and 1 or 6 p.m. The Castellow Adult Learning Center requires all students who want to work on earning their High School Equivalency Certificate through the center’s program to attend one of the five sessions.
For those aged 25 and older who are not high school graduates, the median earnings are $770 per week, compared with $966 per week for high school graduates. That means high school graduates will make $10,192 more per year than those without a high school diploma, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Office of Occupational Statistics and Employment Projections as of Aug. 27, 2026.
The free service is open to the public. The High School Equivalency preparation includes social studies, science, language arts, reading, writing, and math.
All sessions will be held at the CALC. Those wishing to attend one of the two information sessions on Sept. 23 are asked to RSVP by Tuesday, Sept. 22. Those wishing to attend one of the three information sessions on Sept. 24 are asked to RSVP by Wednesday, Sept. 23. Reservations can be made at the CALC’s website or by calling 307-268-2230. To enroll in the program, those attending any of the five sessions must provide proof of eligibility, such as a birth certificate, passport, or REAL ID.
The CALC also offers English as a Second Language classes, and every student seeking additional education will receive assistance in finding a college and exploring career pathways.
The CALC is located on the southeast side of the Werner Technical Center on the Casper College campus.
