What you need to know for the 2027 Commencement ceremony

Important Forms for Graduates

  • Each student planning to graduate should submit an application for graduation to confirm your eligibility to graduate, even if you are not planning to participate in Commencement. You can find the application for graduation on your student dashboard on myCCinfo.
  • If you plan to participate in the Commencement ceremony, please complete the Intent to Participate form so we can plan for your attendance and include your name in the Commencement program.

Important Graduation Deadlines and Dates

The application for graduation is needed for a student to be awarded the degree and have a diploma created for them. You need to fill out the application for graduation whether or not you intend to participate in the commencement ceremony.

  • April 1 – Application Deadline for Spring Graduation
  • July 16 – Application Deadline for Summer Graduation
  • December 1 – Application Deadline for Fall Graduation

The commencement ceremony takes place once a year following the end of the Spring Semester. It is typically held on the Friday evening following final exam week.

Fall and Summer graduates are also encouraged to participate in the commencement ceremony.

Graduation vs. Commencement

Graduation is the process of completing your degree or certificate requirements. We graduate students in the fall, spring, and summer semesters. When you apply to graduate, you’re letting us know that you plan to complete your requirements and earn your degree or certificate in a specific semester.

Commencement is a celebration of your accomplishment. It’s the ceremony where you walk across the stage, receive your diploma cover, and celebrate with your family and friends. Students who graduated in the previous summer and fall semesters as well as students who are graduating in the current spring semester are all invited to walk at Commencement.

Intent to Participate

Opens in February: In order to ensure your name is listed in the Commencement program, Intent to Participate forms must be submitted by the deadline set by the Records office. The portal to submit this form will close the day before the end of the spring semester.

Order a Cap/Gown

Cap and Gown orders will open in the spring of 2027. Stay tuned for the details!

Ceremony

The spring 2027 Commencement ceremony will be held on May 14, 2027. Additional details will be available after the new year.
