CC international student cookbooks and baskets on sale for Christmas
Cookbooks and a choice of three different holiday gift basket options are available this year from the Casper College International Student Club. The baskets, suitable for gift-giving, are now on sale to help raise funds for the club.
“We have lots of plans to introduce our international students to aspects of American culture and hope to be able to share some of our culture with others along the way,” said Mala Stagg, international and athletic student coordinator. Through the baskets, the group hopes to share their cultures and meet their financial goal of making a trip to Denver during the spring semester possible.
Three basket options are available this year for purchase. Basket option one is $50 and contains a cookbook of favorite recipes from home, a calendar featuring pictures of the college’s international students around campus, a water tumbler showing the flags of all the represented countries written in the native language; two hand-painted ornaments, one of the student’s home country flag and one other that represents the student painted by the student; a small booklet of some of their favorite holiday traditions; and a flag keychain. Baskets available in this option highlight students from Canada, France, Hungary, Japan, New Zealand, Serbia or Spain.
Basket option two is $30 and features the cookbook, a 15 oz. mug with the flags of all the countries represented by students, a ceramic coaster with the flag of the country for that student’s country, the booklet of traditions, and one hand-painted ornament. Baskets available for this option feature Australia, Canada, Japan, Serbia, Spain, or Turkey.
Finally, basket option three is also $30 and includes a calendar, water tumbler, one hand-painted flag ornament, the booklet of traditions, and a flag keychain. This final option has baskets available for Australia, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Peru, Spain, or Turkey.
The cookbook and calendar are also sold separately for $10 each.
Casper College is home to 53 international students for the 2024-2025 year, and 41 are members of the International Student Club, the largest roster in the club’s history. Typically, club members meet once a month and participate in community service and on-campus activities.
