High school students are urged to sign up for “High School Dance Day,” set for Friday, Oct. 18, in the Barbara N. and Leland F. Scifers Dance Theatre.

“The annual event allows current Casper College students to experience dance and (helps us) to recruit interest in high school students from the region,” said Jodi Jones, Casper College dance instructor. According to Jones, the free event is open to all students interested in the dance world, both high school and college.

Registration will be held from 10:30-11 a.m. During that time, instructors will meet with the attendees. At 11 a.m., a ballet class will take place, followed by lunch at 12:30 p.m. The next class featuring modern dance will begin at 1:15 p.m., followed by jazz dance at 2:30 p.m. The day will end with a Q&A from 3:30-4 p.m. All attendees will be given tickets to this year’s musical, “The Mel Brook’s Musical Young Frankenstein.”

To register or for more information, contact Jones at 307-268-2690 or jodi.jones@caspercollege.edu.

The Scifers Dance Theatre is located in the Gertrude Krampert Center for Theatre and Dance on the Casper College campus.
