Engineering

Are you interested in high tech? Then a career in engineering may be for you, starting with Casper College’s engineering program. Engineering is essentially solving problems by using science to design applications. It is practical and scientific. It differs from some of the other sciences — biology, chemistry, physics — but there is considerable crossover.

What are the features of Casper’s program?

About our engineering program

Casper College offers engineering courses that are required during the first two years of many engineering programs. The curriculum closely follows the University of Wyoming, but is very similar to most other universities. Our students have successfully transferred to many schools including top-tier universities in Virginia and Texas to name a few. One great advantage at Casper College is the small class size and the opportunity for students to receive close personal attention. Many of our alumni feel this was instrumental in their success.

Our facilities

The Wold Physical Science Center, which houses the engineering department, is centrally located and contains study lounge areas, the STEM Learning Center for one-on-one tutorial at no charge, and computer labs.

Unique learning opportunities

Take part in the Wind Racer competition. Area colleges get together once a year to prove their engineering designs in a wind racer competition. The competition challenges students to apply engineering principles gained in the classroom, out on the racetrack. The competition is fun, and challenging.

What can I do with this major?

Most careers in engineering require additional education beyond the associate degree, and some require a graduate degree. With a Casper College degree, students will be prepared to successfully enter and complete an engineering program at a four-year college or university across the nation.

“Casper College is a great place to start, and for me, it didn’t make sense to go anywhere else. The instructors really want to see you succeed. As long as you want to work for it, they will work for you. In the future, I will be proud to have Casper College on my resume.”
