What are the features of Casper’s program?
Students will study the issues and challenges of creating and maintaining websites, design and interface usability, and how to maximize the effects that websites and apps have on a variety of audiences.
- In the web design courses, you will gain experience in creating computer graphics, content, and animation — all elements that play a role in how a website informs, entertains or sell products and services to its audience. You will learn about building effective, user-friendly websites; including design concepts, how to write code, and the importance of publishing standards-based content for a variety of formats.
- The web development courses at Casper College teaches you to create interactive and dynamic websites using website programming languages and databases. They are designed to provide you with an understanding of the concepts, principles and techniques required for work as a web programmer or developer. The web development track of classes is very technology-based, with coursework in computer networking and programming, as well as web development and design.
The Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree teaches the web design, e-commerce, scripting, and authoring skills necessary to advance in the field of web design and development. General education classes and other business classes are included in the program to provide students with general business, communication, and problem solving skills. Although this is an A.A.S. degree, graduates from this program may apply this degree toward an online applied science degree at the University of Wyoming at Casper.
The certificate is designed for individuals who have an interest in web technologies but who are not interested in completing general education requirements to support a more rounded education. The certificate is more job specific and deals mainly with technical studies; the certificate program is designed to get students into the workforce in one year.
