Talking T-Birds bring home tournament championship

The Casper College Talking T-Birds won the tournament championship title at the James “Al” Johnson and Mike Edmonds Speech and Debate Tournament hosted by Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
“The Casper College Speech and Debate team delivered a stunning performance at Colorado College at the prestigious James “Al” Johnson/Mike Edmonds Invitational. Competing against teams from across the region, the squad demonstrated excellence in both individual and team events,” said Doug Hall, debate coach and communication instructor.
Individually, Dani Schulz, Cheyenne, took fourth in speech to entertain, second in drama, and champion in prose.
Casper’s Jack Cochran took semifinals/fifth speaker in IPDA, fourth in impromptu, and was the champion in informative. Cass Baedke, also from Casper, took fourth in program oral interpretation and was the second/top speaker in IPDA.
Davin Ro, Cheyenne, took second in program oral interpretation while Allie Gilliatt, Powell, took third in prose and in IPDA second/top speaker. Ivey Goff, Thermopolis, placed fifth in program oral interpretation and second in duo interpretation. Nina Bivens, Rapid City, South Dakota, placed fourth in persuasion.
