T-Bird Men start 2024 NJCAA Region IX Tournament action
After winning their Region IX North Sub-Region play-in game at home on March 9 against the Eastern Wyoming College Lancers, 114-94, the Casper College T-Birds head to Scottsbluff, Nebraska, for the 2024 NJCAA Region IX Men’s Basketball Tournament, March 14-16.
The Birds, 23-8 overall and 10-2 in conference play will go against the Otero Rattlers, 13-17 overall and 5-7 in conference play, on Thursday, March 14 at 5 p.m. Should Casper College win that game, they will then go against the winner of the Western Nebraska Community College Cougars and Northwest College Trappers on Friday at 7 p.m. Thanks to their No. 1 ranking, the Cougars are hosting the tournament. The Cougars are 22-8 overall and 11-1 in conference play, while the Trappers are 14-17 overall and 4-8 in conference play.
The winner of Friday’s game will then play in the championship game on Saturday, March 16, at 5 or 7 p.m. The tournament will take place in Cougar Palace. The Region IX Tournament winner will then advance to the NJCAA National Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas, March 24-30
