Casper College Veterans Services will host five events in honor of Veterans Appreciation Week and encourage everyone to wear red on Friday.

The first event will be a military cadence run. The run will be on Nov. 6 starting at 8 a.m. and begin at the “Swede” Erickson Thunderbird Gymnasium and will go up to the path and back down.

On Tuesday, Nov. 7, from 5-8 p.m. “Operation Thunderbird Military Kids’ Night” will feature a dinner for military kids. That will be followed by the Gold Star Family Awareness Day on Wednesday, Nov. 8. The event will feature Casper College student veterans going around campus to spread awareness all day. A reception, the “Casper College Veteran Champions Thank You Reception Luncheon,” will be held on Thursday, Nov. 9 at noon. The luncheon is held to commemorate community partners. All three events will be held in the Veteran Resource Center, Room 207, in the Walter H. Nolte Gateway Center.

On Friday, Nov. 10, veterans attending Casper College are asking the community and everyone on campus to wear red to commemorate R.E.D Friday. Remember Everyone Deployed, also known as RED or Red Friday, is designed to honor United States service members currently deployed overseas.

The final event will be the Third Annual Veterans Ball on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 5 p.m. Tickets are available by clicking here.

For more information on these events, contact Phil Young, veteran and military student services coordinator, at 307-268-2510.

The Walter H. Nolte Gateway Center is located on the Casper College campus.
