Ceramic artist Linda Lyman’s work is currently on display at the Casper College Alumni Association Art Gallery through Thursday, Dec. 7. Her free artist talk will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at noon in the Dick and Marialyce Tobin Visual Arts Center.

Lyman noted that she has had a “… passion for art for 60 years. I knew at 12 that I wanted to be an artist, and I am still in love with the process of creating. I usually sit down with an idea and see where it takes me. It’s so exciting exploring color, form, and different media,” she said.

Lyman received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Wayne State University. Upon arriving in Casper, she enrolled in ceramic classes at Casper College, where she “… spent around 20 years creating … and participating in the Nicolaysen Art Museum’s annual art show and sale,” she noted. Lyman was also the curator of education at the NIC for eight years

“I am hoping my love of art is reflected in everything I create and that the viewer enjoys what I make as much as I do,” said Lyman.

The Casper College Alumni Association Art Gallery is free and open to the public from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Thursday and is located in the Dick and Marialyce Tobin Visual Arts Center on the Casper College campus.
