Adults to receive free help with their tech at open house
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Casper College has teamed up with the Occupational Therapy Assistants’ Club at Casper College and the Tech2Connect Program to offer a free open house lab for all OLLI members. “During the open house, we will go over the when and what is Wyoming Assistive Technology Resources and all that we offer,” said Theresa Robinett, occupational therapy assistant instructor.
The open house lab will occur Friday, Sept. 15, from 1-2 p.m. in Room 110 in Liesinger Hall. OLLI members can register for the open house by calling OLLI at Casper College at 307-268-3401.
Robinett has partnered with Wyoming Assistive Technology Resources for many years. “ … the goal is to help seniors feel more comfortable and confident with using technology to be able to increase their ability to communicate and even decrease feelings of isolation,” said Robinett, occupational therapy assistant instructor and sponsor of the OTA Club at Casper College.
The Wyoming Assistive Technology Resources lab is open every Wednesday from 3-5 p.m. in Liesinger Hall, Room 114. The lab provides one-on-one help with skills older adults need to learn how to operate an iPad, phone, tablet, etc. The lab will be closed on Nov. 22 for Thanksgiving break, and the final lab will be on Dec. 6.
Liesinger Hall, the original administration building, is located on the Casper College campus.
Tech2Connect is a partnership with the University of Wyoming Center on Aging, the Wyoming Assistive Technology Resources, the Wyoming Department of Health, and Casper College.
