Outstanding ag students recognized at awards banquet

Casper College Agriculture Department students were recognized at the department’s annual awards banquet on May 2.
The event was sponsored by the Casper College Oil City Ag. Club, the Casper College Livestock Fitting and Showing Club, and the Casper College Livestock Judging Team. The banquet honored and recognized outstanding students with both awards and scholarships.
Kaley Pieper, Fowler, Colorado, and Kadyn Braaten, Townsend, Montana, were both awarded the Outstanding Sophomore Agriculture Student Award. Abrielle Santee and Kale Benton, Buffalo, were awarded the Outstanding Freshman Agriculture Student.
In the Fitting and Showing Club Awards and Recognition, Gavin Masters, Pinedale, received the Novice Award and Kassadee Lym, Fort Bridger, received the Experienced Award.
Agriculture scholarships awarded included the Zula and Deryl Safford Scholarship worth $3,000 each to Santee, Benton, and Conor Christensen, Riverton. Jessica Wilkinson, Morrill, Nebraska, received two agriculture scholarship awards, the CHS Foundation worth $1,000 and the Myron W. Martin Memorial Scholarship worth $1,100. Kaylee Hock was awarded the Charles C. and C. Dwayne Raymond Agriculture Scholarship worth $1,350, and the Vince Hayes Outlaw Trail Rides Memorial Scholarship was given to Madisyn Keith. Finally, Hayes Hammond received the Tom Parker Good Cowboy Scholarship worth $2,000.
Master of Ceremonies for the event was Maddy Henry, Filer, Idaho, president of the Oil City Ag. Club, while Madi Lupher, Mountain View, vice president of the Oil City Ag. Club provided the introduction of guests attending the banquet.
