An open house designed to showcase the many uses of geographical information systems will be held at Casper College Wednesday, Nov. 17, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

The Casper College GIS program and Natrona County GIS have teamed up to host the event, which will feature information booths, three maps chosen from the “Maps of the Day” competition, and the chance to fly drones around the Casper College campus, weather permitting.

“Those attending will not only be able to learn about GIS but what Natrona County does with GIS and about the GIS program at Casper College,” said Jeff Sun, Casper College GIS instructor.

GIS Day is free and open to the public and will take place outside the Tobin Dining Hall in the Casper College Student Union and University of Wyoming at Casper building. For more information, contact Sun at jsun@caspercollege.edu, 307-268-3560 or Lucas Patton with the Natrona County GIS department at lpatton@natronacounty-wy.gov or 307-235-9406.
