Seven Casper College volleyball players have been recognized regionally and nationally for their academic performance during the 2020-2021 school year at Casper College.

The seven include four sophomores: Aileen Bugas, Fort Bridger; Jana Gilic, Trstenik, Serbia; Shealyn Oili, Nanakuli, Hawaii; and Hannah Thompson, South Jordan, Utah. The three freshmen are: Valeria Sanchez Rodriguez, Ponce, Puerto Rico; Giulia Santuari; Pergine Valsugana, Italy; and Adi Jada Suguturaga, South Jordan, Utah. All seven were all recognized as Academic All-Region for obtaining a GPA of 3.25 or higher.

Nationally four players were honored as NJCAA Academic All-Americans with the Exemplary Academic Achievement Award for a 3.6-3.79 GPA. Those recognized are Bugas, Gilic, Santuari, and Thompson.

“I am very proud of all of these players as they achieved this distinction while maintaining a busy schedule of practice and traveling, which is quite a feat,” said Sharman. “Their hard work in the classroom to reach these goals is admirable, and they are good role models,” she added.
