Outstanding sophomore guard Natalia Otkhmezuri (Ota-ka-missouri) has signed her letter of intent to play for the NCAA Division I Southern Utah University Thunderbirds.

Otkhmezuri ended her career with the Casper College Lady T-Birds, scoring an average of 15.2 points per game. During her career, she tallied up 853 points for the Birds over 56 games played.

“I am super excited that Natalia has accepted her offer to continue her academic and basketball career at Southern Utah,” said head coach Dwight Gunnare. “She has had two great years at Casper College helping her team to a 51-5 record,” he added.

Otkhmezuri will be playing under head coach Tracy Sanders, who will begin her fourth season at SUU this fall. The SUU Lady T-Birds posted a record of 11-9, 6-5 for the abbreviated 2020-2021 season and play in the Big Sky Conference

“I have really enjoyed being Natalia’s coach for the past two years and wish her the very best. I believe Southern Utah has signed a great person, student, and basketball player,” Gunnare said.
