Casper College holds Business Pitch Competition
Casper College will host the 2019 Wyoming Veterans Entrepreneurial Training Summit Business Pitch Competition presented by Jonah Bank Saturday, Nov. 16, from 8 a.m.- 4 p.m.
The competition is designed to provide U.S. military veterans, active-duty service members, reserve/guard and spouses with the opportunity to pitch their early-stage business or business idea to a group of judges, or sharks, to win cash and other prizes, according to Nicholas Whipps, Ed.D., Veteran and International Student Coordinator at Casper College.
Applications must be received by 11:59 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4. Applications will be evaluated on their uniqueness, feasibility, viability, desirability, and the positive impact on people and society. The ideas submitted must be for a new company or an existing company in operation for less than two years. The business must be a minimum of 51% veteran-owned per the U.S. Small Business Administration standards.
A total of seven pitches from the applications submitted will be chosen to participate in the competition. On the day of the event, presenters will have four minutes to speed pitch their idea followed by a question and answer session led by the sharks to gather additional information about the business idea or anything presented in the pitch.
To submit a pitch go to caspercollege.edu/wyvets or for more information, contact Whipps at nwhipps@caspercollege.edu or Jordan Belser at jordan.belser@sba.gov.
