‘Background Radiation’ at Casper College

In celebration of Women’s History Month, Casper College Student Activities presents Will & Company’s “Background Radiation” on Tuesday, March 26 at 7 p.m.

“Background Radiation” is a multi-media presentation featuring both theatre and video. The topics to be covered by “Background Radiation” center around a “herstory of sexual violence in America” and includes the following topics: “Rape Seed” – how black women have long endured sexual violence; “A Suffragist Cause” – the Hester Vaughn ‘murder’ trial; “A Word for This. Thing” – how the term ‘sexual harassment’ was coined at Cornell; “The Yale Connection” – the first case of Title IX sexual harassment on a college campus; “A Hostile Environment “ – the first case of sexual harassment in the workplace; and “Anita Hill” – the first congressional hearing against a judge.

“Background Radiation” will take place in Durham Auditorium and is free and open to the public. Durham Auditorium is located in Aley Hall on the Casper College campus.
