RedStone Recital and Gallery Series Launches “The Sixth Season”
A pairing of art and music is scheduled for the Casper College RedStone Recital and Gallery Series on Friday evening, September 14. The event, which launches the sixth RedStone season, begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Mildred Zahradnicek Gallery in the Music Building. At 7:30 p.m., the Casper College music faculty will perform a wide variety of short works in Wheeler Concert Hall.
Faculty performers include Steven Trinkle, trumpet, with Eugenie Burkett, piano; Veronica Turner, soprano and piano; Paula Flynn, piano; Jennifer Cowell-DePaolo, violin; Jane Ann Hamman, harp; Joshua Mietz, clarinet; Zachary Vreeman, tenor; Kara Baxter, violin; Nathan Baker, trombone; and Eric Unruh, piano.
The exhibition in the Zahradnicek Gallery, titled “Discovering Dubrovnik,” includes works by Lindsey Grant, Carli Holcomb, Jim Kopp, Marabeth Kopp, Linda Nix, Michael Olson, and Kathleen Wille. The exhibitors were part of the Casper College art history class that traveled to Dubrovnik, Croatia, last spring. This exhibition emphasizes the value of world travel as a source of creative inspiration.
General admission tickets for the RedStone Recital are $10 for adults and $5 for students and available on campus in the Music Building, Room 137, through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on the evening of the performance. The Music Building is located on the Casper College campus.
