CC Forensics Team Tops at International Tournament
The Casper College Forensics Team was recognized as the Top Community College by advancing to the final round of the International Parliamentary Debate Association competition at the 28th Annual International Speech and Debate Tournament held recently in Montreal, Canada.
The full team results from the tournament are as follows: Tristan Zamora, Rawlins, Wyoming, Canadian Sketch Comedy Champion (group); Mary Schroer, Casper, second in after dinner speaking, third in prose interpretation, and Canadian Sketch Comedy Champion (group).
Chloe Adkins, Rapid City, South Dakota, second in both impromptu speaking and persuasive speaking, third in both extemporaneous speaking and informative speaking, fourth in international public debate, and Canadian Sketch Comedy Champion (group).
Carter Dunn, Casper, champion in both informative speaking and extemporaneous speaking, second in international public debate, fourth in after dinner speaking, and Canadian Sketch Comedy Champion (group).
“The team broke 10 of their 16 events into finals. This is a tremendous showing, especially for such a small entry,” said Doug Hall, director of forensics. “The team finished in third place overall and were the community college champions for the second year in a row,” he noted.
