Andrew Martin Works on Display at Casper College

“Pottery Sans Capitulation” by Andrew Martin, is on display in the Goodstein Art Gallery now through Thursday, April 13.

The exhibit features a variety of unique and beautiful pots created by Martin, who notes that: “The pots really must work in life. Conveyance of the making process is registered through eyes, and lips, and hands – attractive to pick up and compelling one to return to use, in time, again.”

Martin earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Kansas City Art Institute and his Master of Fine Arts from New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. He has had two residencies at the Archie Bray Foundation, been a resident in the Arts-Industry Program at the Kohler Company, and was awarded two Artist Fellowship Grants from the National Endowment for the Arts. He is also the author of “The Essential Guide to Mold Making and Slip Casting,” which since its publication has become the standard text on the subject.

The show is free and open to the public. The Goodstein Art Gallery is located in the Goodstein Visual Arts Center on the Casper College campus. The gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. For more information call 307-268-2060.
