Former CIA spy to present at Cybersecurity Symposium at Casper College

Retired CIA Senior Intelligence Officer Peter Warmka, who specialized in the clandestine HUMINT or human intelligence collection, will be one of the key presenters at the Rocky Mountain Cybersecurity Symposium on June 11 and 12 at Casper College.

Warmka will present two sessions on Tuesday, June 11: “Confessions of a Cia Spy — The Art of Human Hacking” at 10 a.m. and “Social Media — Your Greatest Vulnerability” at 3:20 p.m.

Warmka has over 20 years of experience in breaching the security of target organizations overseas. According to his biography, Warmka … “is passionate about using his expertise to help city, state, and federal government entities, nonprofits, academic institutes, private companies, and individuals to safeguard their sensitive proprietary and personal data.”

Currently an adjunct professor at Webster University’s Masters in Cybersecurity Program, he founded the Orlando, Florida-based firm Counterintelligence Institute, LLC.

Warmka is the author of the nonfiction books “Confessions of a CIA Spy — The Art of Human Hacking” and “Why Are You Messing with Me? — A Senior Survival Guide on Fraud, Privacy, and Security.”

According to Kent Brooks, director of information technology at Casper College, copies of Warmka’s book “Confessions of a Cia Spy — The Art of Human Hacking” will be given to the first 120 people to register for the Rocky Mountain Cybersecurity Symposium. In addition, the first 120 participants in the older adult track on Tuesday, June 11, will receive a copy of Warmka’s book “Why Are You Messing with Me? — A Senior Survival Guide on Fraud, Privacy, and Security.” Warmka will also be available to sign copies of his books.

The cost per person for the two-day training event is $100, and the fee includes breakfast, lunch, breaks, and all sessions.
