Instructors and proposals needed for 2024 fall semester
Instructors and class proposals for the 2024 fall semester are needed for Community Education at Casper College and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, OLLI at Casper College. The deadline to submit is Sunday, April 7.
“The community education and lifelong learning staff are eager to see class ideas from those who would like to share their talents, hobbies, and skills with the community,” said OLLI Coordinator Kat Bohr-Buresh.
Classes range from one hour to four weeks and are noncredit, meaning there are no grades, quizzes, or homework. Community education classes are for people over 18 who want to learn something new for personal enrichment and growth. OLLI at Casper College is a vibrant learning community for members 50 and over. “The mission of Community Education and OLLI is to promote learning for the love of it,” Bohr-Buresh said.
Free assistance to help with brainstorming ideas, creating curriculum, and structuring classes for those new to teaching is available. “Instructors come from all walks of life and teach various subjects from art to cooking, local lore to world history, animal science to technology, movies to health and fitness, and much more,” noted Zhanna Gallegos, community education coordinator.
The 2024 fall term runs from Monday, Aug. 19 through Sunday, Dec. 15. No formal credentials are required to teach, but all instructors must be 18 or older. For more information about these programs, call 307-268-3401 or visit Casper College’s job page. To submit a proposal, go here.
