Probation and Suspension
At the end of each semester, your academic progress will be reviewed. Your semester and cumulative grade point average determines your academic standing. Academic standing is determined using your semester grade point average (GPA).
What is Good Academic Standing?
- A student is considered in academic good standing by earning and maintaining a GPA of 2.0 (C average).
What is Academic Probation?
- A student is placed on academic probation when their cumulative GPA falls below a 2.0 GPA.
- The purpose of academic probation is to alert the student that they have fallen below the standard of a 2.0 GPA and to make them aware of potential future consequences, if improvements are not made in the current semester.
Academic Suspension
- If a student fails to improve their GPA to a 2.0 or higher during their probationary semester, they are then placed on academic suspension.
- Being placed on academic suspension means you cannot return to Casper College during the following semester, unless you have an approved petition.
