Dr. David A. Burnham
Dr. David A. Burnham is the State Paleontologist at the University of Kansas Biodiversity Institute. He specializes in fossil preparation techniques and his research is directed towards birdlike dinosaurs and the origin of flight. Dr. Burnham prepared and described Bambiraptor, one of the most complete and best-preserved specimens of its kind and the focus of the book Feathered Dragons. His current research involves reconstructing the many new primitive gliders from China. This includes the venomous form, Sinorntihosaurus, and another four-winged glider, Microraptor. This work has been recently published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science and resulted in a documentary produced by NOVA that has garnered worldwide attention.
