The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Casper College will host a “Spring Fling” sign-up event on Friday, Jan. 24 from 4 to 6 p.m. on the second floor of the Gateway Building on the Casper College Campus.

The sign up features a number system to assure that all those registering for spring classes will be taken care of in a quick and orderly manner, according to Karen Arnold, lifelong learning specialist. Numbers will be available from 3:30 to 6 p.m.

Some of the classes to be offered for the spring session include “Early Days in Wyoming: Cowboys,” which will look at the state’s first cowboys from the 1850s and 60s; “The Book of Ruth,” a study of the Bible’s book of Ruth; “Italian Balsamic Vinegar,” to learn about Italian balsamic vinegars from the Modena region; “Olives to Olive Oil,” which will feature a lecture class as well as a cooking demonstration class; “Revolting Americans I and II,” which will look at the men and women of the American Revolution; three classes featuring field trips: “Leave it to Beavers: Restoring Bolton Creek,” “From Vision to Harvest: Wyoming’s Irrigation Heritage,” and In the Neighborhood: C Street Area;” and many more.

For those unable to attend the sign up, registrations will be taken by phone or in person beginning Monday, Jan. 27. To register by phone contact Arnold at 307-268-2099 or Vicki Pollock, lifelong learning specialist, at 307-268-2097. The OLLI office is located in Room 408B in the Gateway Building for those wishing to register in person.
