Most of you have heard about the devastation of the Philippines by Typhoon What you may not know is the effect it is having upon many of our local families. Casper College has its own family of Filipino employees who work on campus, but Casper’s Filipino community is so much larger than just those at the College. They are fellow Casperites, living next to you, and right now they desire your help. Many of our neighbors are worried about their extended families, living in the Philippines.
Maybe you’ve thought about what you could do? We want to give you the chance to do something! The Casper College Campus Democrats, and our local Filipino community have come together, to invite you to experience Filipino cuisine provided by Sodexo food service, some hospitality and a little of Casper College’s “Education for a lifetime”.
They are asking for your support. While enjoying your dinner, the College’s Center for Learning through Service has arranged for Casper College Political Science Professor and Philippine expert, Dr. Nathan Blank to be our noted guest speaker. He will be speaking about the historical and ongoing political importance of the Philippine-U.S. relations. Information on the Philippines and the current state of the devastation and response efforts will be provided for each attendee and you will also get the opportunity to socialize and get to know your Filipino neighbors. It will be a very personal night.
