A THOUSAND UNNAMED WORLDS

The Tate Geological Museum is pleased to announce a special exhibition of original illustrations by resident paleo-artist, Russell J. Hawley. Hawley’s artwork has appeared in the “America’s Smithsonian: An Exhibition Celebrating 150 Years” traveling exhibition, Prehistoric Times magazine and several books including “Oceans of Kansas” by Mike Everhart and most recently “Islands in the Cosmos: The Evolution of Life on Land” by Dr. Dale Russell, Ph.D. He also wrote and illustrated “Fossil Critters of Wyoming,” a Tate Geological Museum exclusive.
The opening of the exhibition coincides with the museum’s National Fossil Day Open House on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012 from 3 to 6 p.m. An artist’s talk will begin at 5:45 p.m. in Rm. 123 in the Tate. Light hors d’oeuvres will be served during the talk. “A Thousand Unnamed Worlds” runs through January 5, 2013.
The Tate Geological Museum is free and open to the public.
