X-RAYS FOR TREATS, HAUNTED HOSPITAL WARD, ‘FUN’ HOSPITAL, SCHEDULED FOR HALLOWEEN NIGHT
The Casper College School of Health Science will present a spooky and fun night of X-rayed Halloween treats, a haunted hospital ward, fun hospital, and prizes and treats for all those who visit the Saunders Health Science Center at Casper College on Halloween night.
“During the night, the Casper College Student Radiography Association and radiography faculty will X-ray Halloween treats,” said Laurie Weaver, chair of the radiography department at Casper College. “We will be handing out goodies and prizes to all the children and they will get to keep the X-ray of their candy,” she said. Children will also be able to watch the radiography students X-ray their candy and help develop the film in the darkroom, according to Weaver.
A new event, a ‘fun’ hospital, is designed for younger children. “The fun hospital will include a variety of areas that children may see in a real healthcare setting. We want children to have a fun, relaxing time so that hopefully they won’t be scared when they do have to go to the doctor’s office or the hospital,” Weaver said.
The popular haunted hospital ward sponsored by the Casper College Student Nursing Association will return. “The haunted hospital ward is geared for those who can handle scary stuff, 8 years of age and older,’ noted Weaver.
Everyone attending is asked to bring a canned or nonperishable food item to the event to be used in the creation of Thanksgiving baskets. “Of course if people do not have a food item they can still come in,” noted Weaver.
Those attending are asked to park on the south side of the building due to construction or to park on College Drive. A new parking lot is also available to the southwest where Bailey Residence Hall formerly stood.
The Halloween activities will take place throughout the Saunders Health Science Center from 6 to 8 p.m. The Saunders Health Science Center is located on the Casper College campus.
