Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan

Casper College Library will attempt to obtain any materials (books, articles, videos, etc.) which are not available in our collections. Through this service, we can provide access to materials in almost any library in the United States. This service is usually free of charge.

In addition, to support faculty research, we can purchase articles via commercial document delivery services. This service is on a case-by-case basis and only if our 46,000 electronic journals, 440 databases, and 140 print journals fall short.

Who is it for?

Casper College students, faculty and staff with a valid Casper College library card. All other patrons need to use their local library for interlibrary loan.

How long does it take?

Approximately five to seven days if we can locate the requested material in state. Up to 15 days if we have to request the material out of state. Note: if you submit your ILL request via our print form please add an additional five days to your request arrival time.

Where to start?

1. Locate books and articles in WorldCat and request those resources via our online Interlibrary Loan Form. This method is quicker and your materials will arrive sooner.

2. Locate books and articles in WorldCat and request those resources via our print form. This method increases our processing time which means that your requested materials will not arrive as quickly.

Course Reserves

Course reserves are items chosen by instructors to support class instruction. The items are maintained in a separate location within a library, and access to the item is more restricted than is the access to items in general circulation. Permanent course reserves are those items that stay on reserve indefinitely.

Instructors of Casper College may request that library or personal materials be placed on Course Reserve at the Library. Please allow us at least 48 hours processing time for any items requested after the beginning of the semester. If your requests involve acquisitions of new books or additional copies of books, your requests should be submitted eight to ten weeks before the start of the semester to allow us enough time for placing orders, cataloging and processing.

We place the following materials Course Reserve:

  • Books, CDs & DVDs (supplied by faculty or the library)
  • Photocopies of journal/magazine/newspaper articles (supplied by faculty)
  • Solution manuals, handbooks & textbook supplements (supplied by faculty)
  • Course syllabi, lecture notes & sample exams (supplied by faculty)

Faculty Print Reserve Request Form
