Rich returned to Wyoming to become College Relations director at Casper College in 2005 after a long absence from the state. He and his wife Lisa both attended Northwest College, where Rich earned an A.A.S. in photography. Prior to that, Rich earned a B.A. in journalism from The Ohio State University. He then worked as a photographer and police beat reporter for the Kenton (Ohio) Times. He was director of Public Relations for the University of Wisconsin-Platteville from 1994 to 2001, and at the State University of New York College of Technology at Canton from 2001 to 2005.

Rich leads a talented team of communication professionals who have been honored with numerous national and regional awards for communications excellence over the past three years. As a team, College Relations staff manage all marketing communications for the college, including the college website, media relations, publications, new media, photography, and special projects for the college.

When Rich moved back to Wyoming in 2005, he and his wife Lisa fulfilled their wish to live and work in the state they grew to love while attending Northwest College in Powell. The Wyoming economy in the early '90s didn't present many opportunities for Rich, so he accepted a position in Wisconsin, and later northern New York. However, when his current position at Casper College opened up, Rich and Lisa both recognized the uniqueness of the opportunity. They have a daughter, Julien, and a son Sam. The Fujitas enjoy camping, boating, rockhounding and regional travel.
