Casper College was recently ranked in the top 25 community colleges in the country.
The ranking is posted at StateUniversity.com, a leading site for public and private college information. The ranking system was based on statistical analysis of the 1,100 community colleges in America in areas such as graduation rates, retention rates and faculty salary. People’s opinion of the college were not factors in developing the rankings.
Casper College was the only college in Wyoming to be in the top 25, and more impressive, one of only two in the Rocky Mountain region.
“Even though the rankings are based statistics, they are a demonstration of the quality work that our faculty and staff do,” Casper College President Dr. Walter Nolte said.
Dr. Nolte added that he is very excited about the recent ranking and has recently started wearing a top 25 button on his suit coat. He has also started passing out buttons to students and staff members on the campus.
”We are careful in our hiring process," he said. "The college itself has a reputation of success demonstrated by those rankings, and so we attract high quality applicants.”
Dr. Nolte said this reputation explains how Casper College is able to get the high-quality faculty and staff needed to earn a top 25 ranking.
StateUniversity.com offers the ranking of colleges each year. The entire list can be found on its website.
